Terms, Privacy & your data

How aniprofile works, what we collect, and the rights you have over your information — including your rights under Brazil’s LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, Law 13.709/2018).

Last updated · June 12, 2026 · v1.0 (draft)

Overview

The short version

aniprofile is a place to build and share a public profile of your anime & manga taste. We try to collect as little as possible, never sell your data, and give you direct control over it. The full documents are below — start with the cards.

Document 1

Terms of Service

By creating an account or using aniprofile (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. This is a prototype document and will be finalized with counsel before launch.

1. Your account

You’re responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials safe. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to sign up. One person, one account.

2. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you add — your bio, lists, custom CSS, uploaded avatars and banners. You grant aniprofile a limited license to store and display that content for the purpose of running your public profile. You’re responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.

3. Acceptable use

  • No harassment, hate speech, or illegal content.
  • No scraping, automated abuse, or attempts to break the Service.
  • Custom CSS is sandboxed and scoped to your profile — don’t try to escape it or inject scripts.
  • Don’t impersonate other people or misrepresent your affiliation.

4. Third-party data (AniList & MyAnimeList)

aniprofile displays cover art, character images, and metadata from AniList and (soon) MyAnimeList. Those works belong to their respective owners; aniprofile claims no ownership and only links/credits them. Import is read-only and never writes back to your source account.

5. Premium (aniprofile+)

Some cosmetic features are part of aniprofile+, billed monthly or yearly and renewed automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal — access stays until the end of the current period, then your profile returns to the free tier with everything you made intact. 7-day refund: if you’re not satisfied within 7 days of a charge, email [email protected] and we’ll refund it. Beyond that we don’t refund unused time, except where required by applicable consumer-protection law. There is no in-app currency.

6. Termination & changes

You can delete your account at any time (see Privacy controls). We may suspend accounts that break these Terms. We’ll give reasonable notice before material changes to these Terms take effect.

Prototype notice. This copy is placeholder for design purposes and is not legal advice or a binding agreement.

Document 1b

Content & moderation

aniprofile is built around public profiles, so the content you upload — avatars, banners and swapped covers — publishes right away; we don’t pre-screen it. We moderate reactively: abuse is reviewed and removed when someone reports it. We have zero tolerance for illegal content and cooperate with the authorities when needed.

What’s not allowed

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): zero tolerance — removed, preserved as evidence, and reported to the authorities.
  • Non-consensual nudity or intimate images of others.
  • Explicit sexual content, extreme violence, or gore.
  • Any illegal content, or impersonation of others.

How we moderate

  • Community reporting on any profile or image with the Report button — this is how abuse reaches us.
  • A human review queue handles every report; we don’t scan or hold uploads before they publish.
  • Confirmed violations are removed, and the responsible account can be suspended or banned.
  • Illegal material is preserved as evidence and escalated to the authorities.

Reporting & takedown

Anyone can report content with the Report button. We remove what breaks these rules and may suspend the responsible account. For non-consensual intimate images, content is removed as soon as the victim notifies us (art. 21 of Brazil’s Marco Civil da Internet).

Cooperation with authorities

When there is evidence of a crime — especially CSAM — we preserve the evidence and report it to SaferNet, the Federal Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and we comply with valid court orders.

Zero tolerance for CSAM. Reports involving children get top priority and are escalated to the authorities.

This explains what aniprofile collects and how we handle it. Our principle is data minimization: if we don’t need it to run your profile, we don’t ask for it.

How we use it

To run your profile, sync your imported list, keep the Service secure, and — only if you opt in — to measure usage and send product emails. We never sell your personal data.

Sharing

Your profile is public by design (that’s the point). Beyond that, we share data only with processors that help us operate (hosting, image CDN, email), under contract. Cover/character art is fetched from AniList/MAL CDNs.

Retention & security

We keep your data while your account is active. Delete your account and we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where law requires us to keep records longer. Data is encrypted in transit; access is restricted.

Cookies

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (theme, layout). Analytics cookies are optional and off until you allow them in Privacy controls.

Document 3

Your data & the LGPD

Legal bases we rely on

  • Consent (Art. 7, I) — profile content, image uploads, list import, marketing.
  • Contract (Art. 7, V) — running the account you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 7, IX) — security and aggregated analytics, balanced against your rights.
